Ever since I figured out that I am lactose intolerant and that I cannot drink dairy milk, I have switched to soy milk. I love that there is a substitution for dairy milk that tastes good and can be used just like dairy milk. Plus, soy milk is healthier than dairy milk. I regularly use Silk Soy Milk in my everyday life and in cooking and baking.
Silk Soy Milk is 100% lactose and dairy free. Silk Soy Milk is made from whole soybeans. Whole bean soymilk is made by crushing the bean and removing the indigestible fibrous portions, then blending the resulting "base" with water, flavoring and nutritious fortifications such as calcium. This whole bean process preserves not only the protein, but also other important components of the original soybean including flavor, essential fatty acids, omega-3 fats and some fiber.
When I switched to soy milk 5 years ago, there were not many different varieties of soy milk. Today, Silk not only has regular soy milk, there is Chocolate Soy Milk, Almond Soy Milk, and the new Silk Soy Latte. I really like the new Silk Soy Latte, because it is a non-dairy ready made coffee drink and it tastes really good. I honestly could not even tell that it is made with soy milk. Plus Silk has revamped their soy milks and they are now taste even better than ever. The Silk Soy Latte can be found at Walmart.

Every so often, especially when I am travelling I like to stop at a coffee shop and get a frappuccino. They are great dessert like coffee drinks, but I was saddened to find out that many of them are made with dairy milk and a lot of places do not have the option of soy milk. While, some coffee shops do offer soy milk, the frappuccino drinks are not cheap. I love that I can make a cheaper alternative at home that is made with soy milk.
Plus, I think this is seriously one of the best frappuccinos I have ever had, as it has one of my favorite flavor combinations, chocolate and peanut butter. I made the Frappuccino with the New Silk Soy Latte, but it can also be made using a combination of coffee and chocolate soy milk. Also, take out the chocolate chips if you want to make this frappuccino completely dairy free, as the Silk Soy Latte is both dairy free and gluten free.

This drink was absolutely fantastic and tasted just like a coffee flavored peanut butter cup drink. I definitely recommend that you try this frappuccino and that you try the new Silk Soy Latte.
